An intimate songwriter series where the voices behind country music's greatest hits share the untold stories that made them.

Nick Walsh has already begun to establish himself as a country music singer/songwriter with a bright future. From being raised in Lyndon, Kansas with a population of 1,000, Walsh knows how to craft genuine lyrics that resonate with those living a small town lifestyle.
Additional info:A talented, musician from Lyndon, Kansas, Nick is a former football player for Kansas State UniversityWho is Nick Walsh? Well, Nick is a singer-songwriter from Lyndon, Kansas. Lyndon is home to about 1,000 folks who grew up like Nick — raised with a small-town mentality that is plain as day in his lyrics.
Truthful thoughts and visions of a flatland lifestyle, his debut track “Heartbreak Town” tells the story of just how hard it is to get over someone you can’t get away from. Taking the long route around town to have the time for your heart to heal.
The question, though, is the journey the healing part or is the journey and it’s path to avoid the one who broke your heart? We think it is probably a little bit of both. The song is gritty, straightforward and emotional in it’s styling.Walsh penned this one as well as had it produced by none other than Erik Dylan. When a guy like Erik Dylan takes a shine to ya, you know you got something. Erik only works with guys that have that the “it” factor. That realness in what they do that makes you really feel their music. So when he throws himself in your corner you are bound to have as good of a shot as any to achieve greatness. Before his songwriting journey began, becoming a professional football player was Walsh’s plan. He was a Kansas State football walk–on beginning in 2012 and soon became a starting punter, which earned him a scholarship in 2015. After his college career, Walsh signed with an NFL agent, which lead to training with 24–year NFL Kicker John Carney in Carlsbad, California.
However, his dream of becoming a professional football player was side–tracked while partaking in a pro day that had every NFL team in attendance. During the 40–yard dash, Walsh blew out his hamstring, causing him to get uninvited to mini camps, as well as a workout with the Kansas City Chiefs. His plan was rehabilitation so he could try out the next year, but a few weeks later, his family home burned down and they lost everything. Walsh transformed this string of bad luck into a positive and believes they gave him a new perspective on life making him realize he loves music more than football.
Walsh moved to Nashville just three months later and began working with Dylan, and the rest – as we say – is history. Keep on the lookout for more live music to drop. This is just the beginning of the road for Nick and we can’t wait to see where those twists and turns take him.

A native Missourian, Nate learned to play guitar after his dad brought one home—that he never learned to play—when Nate was 12. But he didn’t start writing songs until a decade later.
“A friend and I were running from the police one night, and I accidentally fell off a cliff,” Nate says. “During the two-year recovery process, I started actually making music instead of just playing music. The first show I ever had, I played with my jaw wired shut.”
His bluesy Americana style is the result of influences such as Guy Clark Creedence Clearwater Revival and Van Morrison to name a few. Fredrick wrote more than 100 songs while writing for of his debut album Different Shade of Blue released February 26th 2021.
“Nate Fredrick’s Different Shade of Blue Reflects maturity”

”-American Songwriter-“
"Different Shade of Blue is first and foremost a country album, but its bluesy edges, steel guitar flourishes, and Van Morrison-style airiness make it unlike anything else in the genre at this moment in time.“

Originally from Sugar Hill, GA, Meg McRee is a Nashville based artist and songwriter. Her journey with music began at the age of 5, starting violin lessons after hearing a fiddle on the radio. In addition to playing classical violin in symphony orchestras growing up, she taught herself guitar and sang in church regularly.
While attending Vanderbilt University on an academic scholarship, she realized the pull to pursue music further was too strong to ignore. Without a car in Nashville, she took multiple internships on Music Row, walking back and forth to 16th Avenue between classes. Upon graduation she got a job waiting tables, nannied, and began co-writing and playing writer’s rounds around town on her nights off.
Meg is passionate about creating fresh sounds and lyric while still honoring the tradition of country music: telling the truth. She is currently working on her debut project and is thrilled to be signing her first publishing deal at Hang Your Hat Music, a co-venture between Hillary Lindsey and Concord Music Publishing.

Wyatt Durrette is an award-winning singer/songwriter from Richmond, VA. He has reached a staggering 10 billion digital streams, 14 #1 songs and 35 million records sold.

Richard Blackstone’s journey has been about building a number of market-leading and innovative companies in the music and entertainment industries.

The Tradition -------
Nashville's songwriter round is one of music's most intimate traditions — a circle of writers, each telling the story behind the song before playing it. No backing band. No staging. Just a guitar, a voice, and the truth of where the song came from.
Southern Rounds brings that tradition to Analog @ The Hutton Hotel — Nashville's finest listening room — featuring the writers behind some of country music's most celebrated recordings.

THE ARTISTS ------
Growing up in Arkansas, Erin Enderlin was drawn to her papaw's record collection — before she even hit kindergarten, she was hooked on country music. Today, Rolling Stone says her songs are "the stuff of country classics — concise, tear-stained, and all too relatable.
"Elton John spotlighted her on his Rocket Hour show. The Country Music Hall of Fame featured her in its American Currents exhibit. A regular on the Grand Ole Opry — 30 appearances and counting — Enderlin has seen 50+ of her songs recorded by Lee Ann Womack, Reba, Willie Nelson, Luke Bryan, and The War and Treaty. She recently co-wrote "Blood in the River" for an upcoming 2026 Amazon Prime series produced by Morgan Freeman and Kevin Costner.
Moose won the Grammy Award for Best Country Song for co-writing "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" — Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett's iconic anthem. As a touring musician he was a core member of Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band.
As a producer, he co-produced Jamey Johnson's That Lonesome Song — ACM and CMA Song of the Year for "In Color," Grammy-nominated for Album of the Year. The ACM Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year (2015, 2017, 2023), Moose has played on over 40 #1 singles and soundtracks including Pixar's Cars. Inducted into both the Arkansas and Michigan Country Music Halls of Fame.
Multi-instrumentalist Alex Kline is among Nashville's premier No. 1 hit producers and songwriters. She made history as the first woman to solely produce a Mediabase #1 country hit with Tenille Arts' "Somebody Like That."
Nominated for AIMP Nashville Rising Songwriter of the Year and Music Row's Female Songwriter of the Year, her production work spans Tenille Arts, Tigirlily Gold, Harper Grace, Terri Clark, Maggie Rose, Ronnie Dunn, and more. Kline writes for Curb-Word Publishing.
Emerging from the heart of Arkansas, Sofie Smithson is a powerhouse country vocalist and songwriter leading the breakout band Sofie and The New Relics. With a voice reminiscent of Loretta Lynn and the storytelling spark of Emmylou Harris, Sofie blends classic country soul with modern Americana edge.
Reviewers consistently note her ability to connect deeply with audiences — making every performance feel personal and alive.
What Audiences Say
"
I've been to dozens of shows in Nashville. Nothing comes close to the intimacy of Southern Rounds. When the writer tells you where a song came from, you can never hear it the same way again.
