An intimate songwriter series where the voices behind country music's greatest hits share the untold stories that made them.

Kristian Bush is country music's renaissance man. Adept at thriving on the genre’s fringes and delivering songs that speak to its contemporary heartbeat, Kristian continues to build his prolific and enviable career by stretching the norms, embracing creative freedom, and never giving up.
A shape-shifting king of reinvention in the music industry, Kristian founded two wildly successful duos in different genres – Sugarland and Billy Pilgrim. He launched his solo career and started the improvisational rock band Dark Water. Kristian jumped into the world of lo-fi chill music with Cabin Chill. In the last two years, his producing career exploded as he discovered and produces Megan Moroney along with Runaway June and more. He’s also an in-demand songwriter.
“Creating things where there was nothing before is a genuine thrill,” Kristian said. “I learned that thrill as a kid and have maneuvered and chased until I could continue that feeling as an adult."

Garrett Jacobs, hailing from Bossier City, Louisiana, has been chasing music his entire life. After moving to Nashville in 2018 with just 4 boxes, a guitar, and a 2014 Camry; he began writing songs and carving his own lane between Blues, Country, and Soul music. Since signing with Sony Music Publishing in 2021, he has landed cuts with artists like Lee Brice, For King and Country, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, and many others.
The rising artist is currently recording and releasing music tailored to those who are craving music that makes them feel something deep in their chest and reminds them of the classics from the 70’s and 80’s.
This sonic trailblazer is a force to be reckoned with and his recent single “This Thing We Call Love” is just the tip of the iceberg. Creativity comes first with Garrett Jacobs and it is no doubt that he will continue to make waves and push the boundaries of music as time goes on.

Bay Simpson is a singer/songwriter from Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
Raised up around the studio, and born a performer, Bay could already be considered a veteran in his mid 20s.
His first break as a songwriter came at the ripe age of 20 when Kid Rock recorded and released one of his songs entitled “Never Enough.”
After years of fronting his country rock band “Outlaw Apostles,” and opening for artists such as Dwight Yoakam and Jamey Johnson, Bay is finally coming into his own as a solo artist.
Releasing his debut single, “Too Old For This,” on January 31st, 2025, Bay Simpson is set to begin carving his own legacy one song and one show at a time.

Modern American eclectic singer-songwriter Bryan Simpson is an artist whose sound unnervingly explores an evocative amalgamation of southern folk, bluegrass, classic country and indie eclecticism, with the playful swagger, relatable storytelling, and thoughtful introspection of his heroes which include John Hartford, Tom T Hall, Jeff Tweedy, and of course Bob Dylan.
Bryan’s songs have netted praise from all corners: The Huffington Post wrote “Bryan’s original undertakings are reminiscent of the whimsical and whip-smart work by David Byrne and Jim James”. While SeattlePi claims Simpson’s music echoes “Bowie, and Beck in the melodies, moods, and arrangements. The quest is entertaining and thought-provoking.” His genre-spanning career has included making records and touring as a singer/songwriter with luminaries as diverse as The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, bluegrass giant Ricky Skaggs and Mumford and Sons.
Since leaving his hometown of Ft Worth Texas with only a fiddle, guitar, mandolin and a box fan to his name, Simpson has had many of his original songs recorded by country music stand outs like Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Hailey Whitters, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Brandy Clark, Old Dominion, Stephen Wilson Jr., with several of them ending up with a number 1 beside their name on the Billboard and Music Row charts. He has also been awarded NSAI’s prestigious award of “10 Songs I wish I’d Written”. His songs have easily totaled over 500 million streams at this point.
This year Simpson released his first record under his own name. “The Oldest”, released in April, is a concise 11 songs in length, produced by Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan/Brandi Carlisle) and takes Simpson’s shade tree kaleidoscopic storytelling center stage.

The Tradition -------
Nashville's songwriter round is one of music's most intimate traditions — a circle of writers, each telling the story behind the song before playing it. No backing band. No staging. Just a guitar, a voice, and the truth of where the song came from.
Southern Rounds brings that tradition to Analog @ The Hutton Hotel — Nashville's finest listening room — featuring the writers behind some of country music's most celebrated recordings.

THE ARTISTS ------
Growing up in Arkansas, Erin Enderlin was drawn to her papaw's record collection — before she even hit kindergarten, she was hooked on country music. Today, Rolling Stone says her songs are "the stuff of country classics — concise, tear-stained, and all too relatable.
"Elton John spotlighted her on his Rocket Hour show. The Country Music Hall of Fame featured her in its American Currents exhibit. A regular on the Grand Ole Opry — 30 appearances and counting — Enderlin has seen 50+ of her songs recorded by Lee Ann Womack, Reba, Willie Nelson, Luke Bryan, and The War and Treaty. She recently co-wrote "Blood in the River" for an upcoming 2026 Amazon Prime series produced by Morgan Freeman and Kevin Costner.
Moose won the Grammy Award for Best Country Song for co-writing "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" — Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett's iconic anthem. As a touring musician he was a core member of Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band.
As a producer, he co-produced Jamey Johnson's That Lonesome Song — ACM and CMA Song of the Year for "In Color," Grammy-nominated for Album of the Year. The ACM Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year (2015, 2017, 2023), Moose has played on over 40 #1 singles and soundtracks including Pixar's Cars. Inducted into both the Arkansas and Michigan Country Music Halls of Fame.
Multi-instrumentalist Alex Kline is among Nashville's premier No. 1 hit producers and songwriters. She made history as the first woman to solely produce a Mediabase #1 country hit with Tenille Arts' "Somebody Like That."
Nominated for AIMP Nashville Rising Songwriter of the Year and Music Row's Female Songwriter of the Year, her production work spans Tenille Arts, Tigirlily Gold, Harper Grace, Terri Clark, Maggie Rose, Ronnie Dunn, and more. Kline writes for Curb-Word Publishing.
Emerging from the heart of Arkansas, Sofie Smithson is a powerhouse country vocalist and songwriter leading the breakout band Sofie and The New Relics. With a voice reminiscent of Loretta Lynn and the storytelling spark of Emmylou Harris, Sofie blends classic country soul with modern Americana edge.
Reviewers consistently note her ability to connect deeply with audiences — making every performance feel personal and alive.
What Audiences Say
"
I've been to dozens of shows in Nashville. Nothing comes close to the intimacy of Southern Rounds. When the writer tells you where a song came from, you can never hear it the same way again.
